Careful Rupert you may well find certain people rubbishing BSWN soon. Thanks for the comment - we agree and note how the Lawrence Report recommendations are presently being sidelined by HM Government.

Here we are again presented with an opportunity for our public authorities to make good on the statute which, placed a general duty on public authorities to promote: equality of opportunity and good relations between people of different racial groups.

At a time that we see the rise of the BNP and a media blind eye turned to the legitimate place of native black people of the United Kingdom in the representation of our society, there is an even grater urgency for action on this issue to promote the positive contribution of BME people in British society. A function that public authorities have a duty to act upon in Law. It is clear that Walter Tull is Worthy of this Posthumous Military Cross.

Thanks PB. As you can see we updated our post. One or two of us down here have spent time 'up country' on the Spurs Manor. We think it would be good to see that statue. We know a lot of local people up there who agree.

I have also created an online petition calling on Spurs to erect a
memorial to Walter Tull as part of the redevelopment of White Hart Lane.
It is an ideal opportunity to honour his memory and I have suggested a
conventional statue that will be a constant visible reminder to the
local community and all visiting supporters of this remarkable man's
life. I would be grateful if you could support this cause and sign up at

How long and in how many ways, does it take for a wrong to be made right? Clearly in this case, at least 100 years but do it we must... together in unity.
